# Docker

> Docker Engine and the Compose plugin from Docker's own repository.

Docker Engine with the Buildx and Compose plugins, from Docker's official package repository, enabled at boot. On a release Docker's repository doesn't carry yet, you get the distribution's own Docker packages instead (docker.io, or moby-engine on Fedora).

## Details

- Installs on: Ubuntu and Debian; AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux and Fedora
- Smallest plan: Budget (1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM)
- Public ports: none (nothing listens publicly)
- Project site: https://docs.docker.com/engine/

## After the server is ready

1. Log in with SSH.
2. Run `docker run --rm hello-world` to check it works.
3. Put your project's compose.yaml on the server and run `docker compose up -d`.

## Order it

Pick Docker in the order form, or use `"app": "docker"` in the API or `rack4 servers create --app docker`. See [all one-click apps](https://rack4.io/apps) and [plans](https://rack4.io/plans).
