What one-click covers
We install the app and its dependencies, start it at boot, keep databases on localhost, and keep admin pages that the first visitor would claim off the public internet: n8n and Uptime Kuma listen on localhost until you claim them over an SSH tunnel, OpenClaw's gateway stays on localhost behind a token, and the WordPress installer asks for a login only root can read. Coolify's dashboard ports are blocked from outside the server until you open them, so you claim it over an SSH tunnel too.
What stays with you
The app's own setup (an admin account, a domain, HTTPS, the Minecraft EULA, signing in to Tailscale), then its updates and backups. The software is self-managed: we look after the hardware and network, not the app. Progress is in /var/log/vps9-setup.log. How one-click apps work
Three ways to pick an app
Choose it in the order form, or pass its id to the API or the rack4 tool. Reinstalling a server can add a different one. How one-click apps work
In the panel
The order form lists the apps that run on your distribution and size. Pick one, or none, then pay.
With the rack4 tool
Add
--appwith the app's id torack4 servers create, plus--packagefor anything extra.Through the API
Send
"app"in the create request. The API quickstart has the full request.
$ rack4 servers create --plan standard --image ubuntu-24.04 --hostname web-1 --key key_8f2c --app docker --package htop{
"plan": "standard",
"image": "ubuntu-24.04",
"hostname": "web-1",
"app": "docker"

Name up to 20 packages from your distribution's repositories, and paste a first-boot script of up to 16 KiB that runs once as root after them. Writing a setup script
Any distribution, your call
Apps install on the distributions their projects support. Arch Linux comes clean, for people who like to build it themselves. See all six Linux distributions
